New Advocacy Resource for Coalitions

Alliance for Justice’s Bolder Advocacy program is pleased to release our new guide, Advocacy Resource: Coalition Checklist. Working in coalition is a cost-effective way for groups to create lasting change and achieve common goals, yet questions often arise about how to do so effectively.

This new Bolder Advocacy practical resource is designed to guide organizations through the process of forming and working in coalition with easy-to-understand explanations of the most common forms of coalitions, how to fund them, how to work on the most common types of joint activities, and how partners can share resources. The guide also provides sample agreements that should help coalitions come to agreement on decision-making processes and other issues before conflict arises.

Coalition Checklist should be viewed as a short overview of the laws and regulations that apply to nonprofits, particularly 501(c)(3) public charities, working in coalition with other organizations to achieve their advocacy goals. It is designed to complement our more in-depth publication, The Connection. Bolder Advocacy is very excited to be releasing the 4th edition of The Connection, one of our most popular guides, in a few weeks. We hope The Connection along with our new Coalition Checklist, will help you create strong, smart, and effective coalitions. As always, do not hesitate to contact Bolder Advocacy with your advocacy-related questions.
